The Doomsday Clock is at two minutes to midnight. Security experts, scientists and politicians agree that the possibility of nuclear war with North Korea increases every day. People around the world are calling for diplomatic solutions to the crisis.
Political Scientist and South Korean native, Dr. Joonbum Bae, believes a diplomatic solution must involve and understanding between the US and China. It is the only way to resolve fears of of both nuclear war and the instability regime collapse could cause in North Korea.
Dr. Bae asses the ever shifting situation in North Korea and the possibilities of diplomatic resolution.
Joonbum Bae is Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Hobart & William Smith. He earned his Ph.D. in political science from UCLA and was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Scowcroft Institute for International Affairs of Texas A&M University. He earned his MA in international relations at Seoul National University, and his research has been funded by the George Marshall Foundation and the Institute for Global Conflict and Cooperation.
