Cleveland National Animal Rights Day (NARD) 2017
Established by Our Planet. Theirs Too. in 2011, The National Animal Rights Day (NARD) is an annual day observed in the US and Canada on the first Sunday in June, for the purpose of giving a voice to all animals and raising awareness for their rights, until all animals are free from enslavement and their rights are established and protected by law. On this day, special NARD events are held in major cities across the world. For the first time, Cleveland will be joining hundreds of other activsts in holding a memorial ceremony for the trillions of animals who are killed by humans each year and the reading and signing of The Declaration of Animal Rights. Following the funeral ceremony, there will be food available, tables from our local animal rights organizations, and information on how to continue the fight for nonhuman animals throughout the rest of the year.
