We're Not All In Presence as Cleveland City Council Intoduces Bill to Finance Q Renovations
Sadly as Cuyahoga County Council moves closer to financing deal for Quicken Loans Arena renovation describes the deal is likely to pass at the March 28 County Council Meeting. The Committee of the Whole decided to quickly move it out of committee and fast track towards a vote on the 28th before even considering what upcoming State Budget Cuts and what proposed Federal Budget Cuts might do to the County and City of Cleveland's finances. However the deal cannot be made unless Cleveland City Council approves their end of it - $88 million in taxpayer money. Do we have a chance to stop it here? Yes! Remember, they are all up for re-election this year and as the narrow 9-7 vote on the Dirt Bike scam indicated there may be some dissension in the ranks. Reasonably assured that County Council is going to do their part in handing out millions of dollars of Corporate Welfare to the Q Cleveland City Council President Kevin Kelley has decided to try to quickly move it's bill through City Council as well. Although the bill is only being introduced at this meeting a large We Will Remember in November Presence is a good start to making them think twice.
