While polls confirm that the nation's electorate are remarkably unenthusiastic about the two principal aspirants for U.S. president that the major parties are promoting, one thing is unmistakably clear: at the very least there needs to be a wide open discussion and debate among progressive people on what the choices are and where do we go from here. Steve Holecko is currently the Political Director for the Cuyahoga County Progressive Caucus (CCPC).He is a retired teacher who was on the Executive Council of the Ohio Federation of Teachers for many years before retirement. CCPC is affiliated with “Our Revolution,” a recently formed national network inspired by Bernie Sanders and his historic presidential campaign.
Robert Fitrakis is a lawyer, political author and writer, and Professor of Political Science at Columbus State Community College. He has been the editor of the Columbus Free Press since 1993. He co-authored “What Happened in Ohio: A documentary record of theft and fraud in the 2004 election” (New Press, 2006), and has authored or co-authored 12 other books including six on election integrity. In 2006, Fitrakis ran as an independent candidate for Governor of Ohio endorsed by the Green Party and was a Green Party candidate for Ohio Lieutenant Governor in the 2014 elections.
Matt Meister is a History and Philosophy teacher at Cleveland Heights High School; Secretary-Treasurer, NE Ohio Industrial Workers of the World (IWW); Member, IWW Organizer Training Committee.
Jerry Gordon is the UFCW International Representative (Ret.); Chair, Ohio State Labor Party.
